Qualifications for Quality Service

I have spent my entire legal career serving here in Thurston County. For the last 12 years I was a senior defense attorney with the Thurston County Office of Public Defense (click here to read their bio about me). Prior to my service with the county, I was on the panel for district court for 3 years. Currently I am in private practice serving 66 families navigating our legal system.  I decided to return to private practice and pursue this position, after 12 years with the Thurston County Office of Public Defense, when I realized  that I could impact the lives of youth and families in an even greater capacity if I served as a judicial officer.

I am driven by the belief that justice requires fair, impartial, compassionate, and experienced decision making. These are the qualifications and certifications I have that prove I am the best candidate for the position:

Education
  • Masters of Business Administration - Saint Martin’s College in Lacey (1997)
  • Juris Doctor - Seattle University School of Law (2003)

Bar Admissions
  • Nisqually Tribal Court
  • Washington Supreme Court
  • Western District of Washington (Federal)
  • 9th Circuit Court of Appeals

Military Service

  • Chief Warrant Officer Four (CW4) - U.S. Army Reserves (1998-Present)

Family Service

  • Happily married to Reuben Amamilo (1998-Present)
  • Proud mother of 7 children (1985-Present) and grandmother of 3 grandchildren (2009-Present)
